I took a road trip to the northwest part of China in Gansu, Qinghai, and Xinjiang province. Along the trip, we saw canyons, mountains, desert, salt lake, and lakes. We also went to the starting point of the Great Wall, the Mogao Cave, and experienced the Islamic culture in the Xinjiang Province.
Our Route: Lanzhou (where we rented our car) – Zhangye National Geopark – Jiayuguan (Starting point of the Great Wall) – Hami – Turpan (The Flaming Mountain, The King’s Tomb, Turpan Museum) – Dunhuang (The Echoing Sound Mountain, Mogao Cave) – Qinghai (Chaka Salt Lake, Qinghai Lake)
