Cedarbrook Lodge – Sea-tac, Washington

Relaxation and Sustainability within minutes of Seattle

My family was invited to stay at the Cedarbrook Lodge in Sea-tac, Washington, just minutes south of Seattle.  I am quite familiar with the airport area and had never heard of the Lodge. Upon our arrival we took a turn off a familiar road into a neighborhood and just beyond the trees was this Diamond in the Rough.  A peaceful Lodge with 104 guest rooms, fit for a relaxing weekend retreat.

Kid Friendly

My husband and I had decided to go without the kids since the brochure made the ponds, walkways and rooms seem like a “no kid zone”.  But after my first day I was very surprised to have seen several families, some with small children, enjoying their stay at Cedarbrook.  With Seattle just a short train ride away, there was plenty to keep everyone entertained.  The Lodge offered games out on the back lawn along with the walking trails, and each of the two lodge buildings had a public “living room” area for watching TV and enjoying the freesnacks they offered 24/7 (including Haagen-Dazs ice cream, Oh my!).

Dining

The Cedarbrook has a small intimate restaurant called “Copperleaf” and the food is outstanding!  The menu is gourmet and the food comes fresh from local farmers as well as the vegetable garden right at the Lodge.  They even offer a children’s menu and had a great one at that for only about $6 per meal.

The morning breakfast is complimentary offering healthy choices for adults and children alike. Fresh Oatmeal, fruits, meats and cereal are part of the menu. Along with your morning coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Sustainability

One impressive feature about this wonderful lodge is their dedication to buying local, being green and helping the earth.  Almost everything you use or find at the Cedarbrook is brought in from local companies within 150miles of the Lodge. I even checked our pillows, and the tags were from a local Northwest company.

The luxurious oversized bathrooms are filled with Green NATÜRA bath products to help you relax, all while reducing your environmental impact.  Even the pens provided in the guest rooms are made from 100% recycled materials.

Minutes to Seattle

The location of this Lodge couldn’t be any better.  It’s near the airport, yet set off in the woods to give you that true Northwest feel outside the big City of Seattle.  Being a rural girl myself I truly enjoyed being outside the hustle of the City and the lodge provides a courtesy shuttle to and from the airport as well as just around the corner to the Lite Rail train which is a very short ride directly to any area of Seattle you want to visit.  It couldn’t be any easier to visit Seattle!
