I had a little meeting at work this morning and couldn’t resist the excuse to visit the new Ballard location of Three Girls Bakery for some coworker-collaboration treats. The bakery and luncheonette has been a mainstay in the Pike Place Market for years, serving up breads, pastries, sandwiches and soups. (And of course the requisite selection of java.) Lucky for Ballardites, Three Girls is here and open for business!
The new space houses the bakery for both this location and the Pike Place Market location. It’s located at 6209 15th Ave NW, very close to the Ballard High School in a very generic looking shopping strip, but as you cross the threshold, it’s almost like the aroma of sweet, flaky pastry dough lifts your feet off the ground as you gently float to the register. Mmm… I’m getting all dreamy just thinking about it!
Unfortunately I couldn’t really justify a sandwich first thing in the morning, but I did get a taste of a few of their amazing pastries, including the: raspberry scone, chocolate croissant, cream cheese danish, and apricot rugelach. Before you think it, no, I did not eat an entire one of each, I had a TASTE. Like a small bite. Or two. If I had eaten one of each of these, I’d still be under my desk in a sugar-induced coma. Irregardless, they were all delicious and I would have a hard time picking just one the next time around.
Three Girls Bakery doesn’t seem to have a website, but you can certainly check them out on Yelp. There’s a separate review for the Pike Place Market location with plenty of folks singing their praises. Enjoy!
