I came across this post on Willi Galloway’s (West Coast Editor of Organic Gardening magazine) blog “Diggin Food.” It has some really neat pictures of the rooftop garden at Bastille restaurant in Ballard. Bastille was able to generate some serious pre-opening buzz with their plans for the roof top real estate. They currently grow their own salad greens and herbs, and have possible plans to expand next summer.
Check it out! It’s amazing how much urban farming can produce with some ingenuity and a commitment to using the freshest ingredients possible. Makes me wish I had a roof on which to grow basil in kiddie pools, too!
If you missed the post about our dinner at Bastille a few weeks ago, here’s the link.
